What implant brands does Dr. Daniela use?

Primarily Motiva Ergonomix+ (next-gen ergonomic silicone) and Mentor MemoryGel Xtra (FDA-approved). Both are premium silicone gel implants. The choice depends on your anatomy, aesthetic goal, and whether FDA approval matters for insurance or peace of mind. Allergan/Natrelle implants are no longer used due to the BIA-ALCL recall of their textured line.

How do I choose the right size?

You don't decide alone — and you don't decide in cup sizes. During consultation, we use Crisalix 3D simulation: you see your own body with different implant volumes (250cc, 325cc, 400cc, etc.) and projections (moderate, high, ultra-high) on-screen. At the in-person pre-op, you can also try physical sizers inside a sports bra. Final decision is confirmed before the OR.

Do I need to replace implants after 10 years?

No — that's a myth. Modern silicone implants are not on a fixed replacement timer. They are lifetime devices unless a specific issue occurs (rupture, capsular contracture, or you want a size change). Motiva and Mentor both offer warranty programs covering rupture for 10+ years. Routine MRI or ultrasound at year 5 and 7 post-op is recommended by the FDA for silicone monitoring.

Can I breastfeed after breast augmentation?

Yes, in most cases. The surgical approach Dr. Daniela uses (submammary incision, sub-muscular or sub-fascial placement) preserves the milk ducts and nipple nerves. That said, roughly 1 in 4 women have breastfeeding challenges regardless of surgery (anatomy-dependent). If future breastfeeding is a priority, mention it during consultation so the surgical plan can optimize for it.

What incision will I have?

The most common is the inframammary (submammary) incision — along the natural fold under the breast. It's 4–5 cm and heals well-hidden. Alternatives are periareolar (around the nipple) or transaxillary (armpit) — less common and decided based on your anatomy. All incision choices are explained in 3D during consultation.

How long until I can exercise?

Light walking: day 2. Normal desk work: day 7–10. Gym (lower body only): 3 weeks. Chest and upper-body workouts: 6–8 weeks. Running/HIIT: 4 weeks. The timeline depends on placement (sub-muscular takes longer than sub-fascial).

How long do I need to stay in Medellín?
